Our Services

Gullah Society Contracting Services

The Gullah Society has a team of multi-disciplinary experts with experience working in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, museum studies, historical and genealogical research, education and community engagement.

We work with governmental, individual and corporate clients to assist in the preservation of Gullah-Geechee burial grounds and other cultural heritage landscapes, memories and sites.  We are especially interested in educating people of all ages about the importance of the history of people of African descent in Charleston and the Low Country - providing others with the skills to access their individual, family and community histories.

We offer the following services:
  • Historical research - properties, landscapes and burial grounds
  • Oral and community history research
  • Genealogical research
  • Archaeological survey and mapping
  • Exhibition planning and design
  • Interpretive planning
  • Historical tours
  • Educational programing and lesson plans
  • Guest speakers
  • Community engagement events

For more information please get in touch via the 'CONTACT US' page.  Thank you for your interest in working with us.
