Art and Remedies is a holistic wellness organization which uses creative practices through visual arts and plant-based remedies to promote healing and wellness for the body, mind and soul. Each of our powerful senses of smell, sound, taste and vision can transport us back to a simpler happier time; where total well-being health and new energy can be found. Our mission is to support others on their journey with healing and adopting a healthy lifestyle through vision and taste.
Addressing Food Insecurity in Charleston
Art and Remedies Wellness has teamed up with GrowFood Carolina and Enough Pie to bring food from local farmers to people experiencing food insecurity in the upper peninsula of Charleston. GrowFood is Charleston's local food hub. Created by the Coastal Conservation League, GrowFood helps small farmers stay on their land by connecting them to local markets. In the current health and wealth crisis, getting food to people who urgently need it is more important than ever. Enough Pie is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that helps awaken and connect the stakeholders of the upper peninsula of Charleston to shape the development of our community using artistic collaborations, dynamic partnerships, creative place-making, and civic engagement as tools.
Art and Remedies Wellness, working closely with Enough Pie and GrowFood Carolina, distributes 75 boxes filled with fresh, nutritious produce weekly from GrowFood, under the US Department of Agriculture's Farmers to Families program. The communities we are serving are known to be 'food desert' communities with little or no fresh plant-based foods available.
